Jon Enoch, a British photographer, has won the overall prize for the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year competition this year with his photo series, The Candy Man. The photo was taken in the streets of Mumbai and is part of a larger collection of sellers displaying candy in various forms in the hopes of attracting buyers. Enoch expressed his delight in receiving the award, saying that it was a true honor to be recognized in such a prestigious competition. He revealed that he was attracted to the shapes, colors, and arrangement of the candy and the urban environment.
Other winners in different categories include Khanh Phan Thi's Dalam Badai, which won the Harvest category. Carla Sutera Sardo's Dapur Adua won the Claire Aho award for female photographers. Thierry Gaudillère's Gadis setelah mengosongkan tangki di akhir fermentasi won the Wine Photographer of the Year award, and Jesslyn Jocom's Photo was the winner in the Food for the Family category.
Zhonghua Yang's Kesemek Gantung won the Pink Lady Moments of Joy category, while Catherine Falls's Slurping Spaghetti was the winner in the Family Eating category. Felipe Pizano's Dinner is Ready won in the Country Eating category, and Keiron George and Frankie Turner's The Aftermath won the Food Stylist award.
Hein van Tonder's Bonnet Delights won in the Mobile category, and Zhonghua Yang's Artis Tari Gula Anchang won the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year (China) award. Mouneb Taim's Makanan Ramadan Di Antara Reruntuhan Idlib, Suriah won in the Food Politics category.
Kim Bainbridge's Amazonian Foodscape won in the Student Food Photographer of the Year category, and Maja Kowalczyk's Persik won in the Youth (under 10) category.
The Royal Photographic Society of Bristol will be exhibiting all the finalists' works from Saturday, 20th May 2017, to Sunday, 11th June 2017.
